Certifications

Trusted third party certifications for our Loop Phone Booths covering safety, performance, and sustainability.

Electrical

Electrical certification is paramount to the safety of all office pods. Due to the internal wiring of pods it is essential that electrical systems of pods are fully tested as complete assembly to reduce risks associated with electrical fires. Loop Phone Booths are fully certified to UL962 (The Standard for Safety for Household and Commercial Furniture) and CSA C22.2 (Modular Wiring Systems For Office Furniture) and are ETL. Each and every Loop privacy pod is run through electrical cycles and electrical load tests to ensure product safety as part of our QC process. Our facility and test results are third party audited quarterly for compliance.

Mechanical & Strength

Loop Phone Booths are third party tested for mechanical strength and performance. This includes ceiling weight tests, desk load tests, seating load tests, and tip tests. Our glass meets the required ANSI standard for safety and performance. Mechanical and strength testing falls under our UL962 product certification.

Fire Safety

Although work pods are not required to be fire resistant, all finishes used on the construction of our Loop Phone Booths are Class A fire rated. This ensures that the product exhibits flame spread and smoke developed indexes that comply with national and international building codes. Further to the finishes used on the booths, our wall constructions have been flame tested under UL962 certification.

Acoustic Performance

Third party acoustic testing of office pods is key to confirming product performance. Acoustic testing for office pods must be done on the entire unit as a whole and measured in NIC. Component testing or STC testing is not an adequate measure for determining pod performance as it does not take into consideration areas where sound is likely to escape such as the ventilation system. Our single occupancy Loop Phone Booths are tested to ASTM E596 (Standard Test Method for Laboratory Measurement of Noise Reduction of Sound-Isolating Enclosures) and our multi-person occupancy pods are field tested to ASTM E336 (Standard Meathod for Measurement of Airborne Sound Attenuation between Rooms in Buildings). All of our acoustic tests are completed by unbiased third-party engineers. For detailed information on acoustic performance for each product, please visit and download our product specification sheets.

Furniture Standards

There are no formal furniture standards yet for office pods. However, BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association) has developed a set of guidelines. These guidelines outline pod safety and performance. Loop Phone Booths are designed and manufactured to conform to these guidelines. Onetwosix, the design and manufacturing company that produces Loop Phone Booths, is a member of BIFMA and is actively working alongside other booth manufacturers, customers, and stakeholders to finalize the BIFMA Pods guidelines into a formal BIFMA standard.

Environmental & Social Governance

BIFMA e3 LEVELs is a comprehensive certification program that provides purchasers a transparent means to confidently source responsibly manufactured products. Loop Solo, Loop Cube, and Loop Access have been measured against the multi-attribute criteria defined in the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard and are listed in an industry-wide public registry. BIFMA LEVELS carefully considers material choices including those that are renewable, recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable. The certification also includes policies related to product end-of-life management, hazardous materials assessments, water management, occupant wellness, material use efficiency, impacts on human and ecosystem health, vendor selection requirements, employee health and social policies, community engagement, energy efficiency and much more. Loop privacy pods are laboratory tested for clean air and VOCs as per ANSI/BIFMA X7.1-2011 and ANSI/BIFMA e3-2019 Section 7.6.1 and meet all emissions levels for furniture in both open plan and private offices.
